Now that’s a rather absurd question, considering that mostly everyone will find them annoying or useless, especially if an advertisement has been going on repeatedly every time their favorite TV show gets a commercial break. But there are special instances when an ad becomes the exception to the rule. They get stuck to the mind of the television viewers, and the result, the product or service advertised sticks to the mind and gets converted as profit.

But before such sticky TV commercials came to be, they were first ideas and text formulated by a creative person. Before the images and sounds, they were written concepts, which belong to the sphere of copywriting.

Copywriting has its challenges which a person needs to be aware of in order to operate well in it. First and foremost, it taps into the right side of an individual’s brain, where all the creative juices are flowing. In most cases, the creative person is given a task of coming up with a new way to present a client’s product or service which will attract people and convert them into consumers of it. When the individual taps into his creative juices, an image usually forms in his or her mind. Now the next step is to convert that image into something which the person’s client can also imagine as well as his or her creative team mates.

Copywriting makes sure that the set of words used will let the one who reads understand the scenario being described. And when that aim is achieved, that’s when other people help make the image one person had into something which will stick into the minds of people. A good TV ad is a product of good copywriting.

Brand loyalty, as many businessmen and women recognise, is what separates the failures and the one shot wonders from the successes and the long time giants in business. But what is brand loyalty, really?

Brand loyalty is considered by marketing specialists as the commitment of a company’s customers to purchase products and/or services continuously from that business on the sole merit of its brand. Continuous and repeated buying from a company mainly because it carries the brand that customers are more acquainted to is a very powerful tool for a business. With such a tool, a business can not only grow, it can also expand its product line and even expand to other types of businesses on the merit of the its one brand that has a high brand loyalty rating.

Furthermore, brand loyalty also helps to advertise the company to other potential customers without the company lifting a hand. Consumers loyal to a certain brand are usually more than willing to encourage other people to support the brand that they are loyal too. What’s more, they are also highly likely to defend their preferred brand against its competitors. It is therefore no wonder that brand loyalty is something that every business strives for.

The entrance of the Internet into the world has greatly changed the lives of just about every person in this planet. With the Internet, communications are faster, news reaches further and businesses need not be confined to their particular geographical location.

If you are running a business and you haven’t started Internet marketing yet, why haven’t you? Internet marketing has a lot of gems to offer a business that wants to succeed. For one thing, Internet marketing reaches more people than traditional marketing every could. The people who surf the Internet come from all over the world. Think about it, if your internet marketing can reach people from halfway around the world, is there any doubt that it can reach people in your neighbourhood?

Another advantage of Internet marketing is its very low cost compared to traditional marketing. The medium of Internet marketing requires less cost in terms of materials and manpower when compared to traditional marketing operations. Furthermore, Internet marketing also offers a better way for you to trace how effective your marketing has been for your business. With Internet marketing, you won’t be guessing whether the hundred thousand you dropped into your marketing budget is actually increasing your sales. You can easily check the figures to find out for yourself.

Chief among these is the way we run our business. Whereas, back in the day, a brick-and-mortar location was a necessity for most businesses, nowadays, a business can actually exist and thrive in only a virtual sense, meaning, only in the Internet. Thus, anyone can run a business from his or her home without having to rent an actual business space and still be able to maintain a profitable business.

As good as this sounds, to succeed in an internet business, more commonly known as an online business, you need to be able to market yourself successfully. Internet marketing is a vastly different approach to marketing compared to traditional business marketing. The Internet offers a very different way of interaction between people, one that is both intimate and remote. To succeed in such an environment, you need to understand the vagaries of Internet marketing.

There are several details that you need to be aware of when you are doing Internet marketing. One of these is maintaining a healthy, one on one relationship with your customers. This encourages repeat customers to your business who may also market your business for you as well. Another detail is targeting the right kinds of people. The Internet lends itself more to business that focus on a specific group of people. While this may sound like good news, finding the right group of people to target can be difficult.

Internet marketing entails a very different kind of strategy compared to traditional businesses. If you plan to succeed online, you would do well to know some of these successful Internet marketing strategies.

Obviously, the strategy used in the beginning of this post is reverse-psychology, which simply states that an individual who encounters a set of words telling him to do something will lead him to do the opposite, or vice versa.

From the example given above in this post’s introduction, you will get the idea of what copywriting really is about. Copywriting is playing along with words which does not violate any basic grammatical rules. It is arranging or using words in such a way that it will lead to readers doing the things that the writer wants them to do. It is the art of persuasion with just written text.

Good copywriting is being aware of certain facts and strategies which can help increase the attention-grabbing tendency of write-ups. A brilliant copywriter is someone who knows how to not only get people to read up something, but also to persuade them to do something which benefits what he or she has written about.

Words are considered to be powerful, and when arranged in a certain way, it creates magic. Therefore, it will really help the copywriter if he or she has a wide command of the vocabulary. Having a wide knowledge of the vocabulary helps simplify complicated terms. And the more those readers understand what the copywriter is talking about, the more chances that they will act according to what the copywriter wants them to do.

The computer technology had penetrated most countries and therefore changed the way of life and thinking of most people in the world. Computers and the Internet are like bread and butter for most people judging from the number of web sites and the kind of jobs that are in demand in many industries.

Even businesses also are evolving and are now following the Internet trend by building, or rather designing; web sites that people can visit. However, it is not because you have a web site that you can already say that you get the right attention from your prospect clients or targets. Thus you need to turn to SEO.

SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. This is the process where you try to improve the volume and traffic to your web sites from your search engines through “organic”/ “natural” or algorithmic ways. People usually just enter the key words or usually three word-phrases to the search engines like Goggle, Yahoo and Microsoft and they expect that their search will return related web sites. For on line marketing and if you want to have a return of your investment, it would be a good move if you go for SEO.

If it happens that your page is in another page, the chances that the person who searched will follow on your link are very low. When the search result returns put your site link in the first page and on top, people will mostly likely follow on your link and visit your site. This only means that you get to attract the target clients thus there will be a return of you investment.

Place your hands behind your head and step away from the computer! Grab a tape recorder and walk around and talk to yourself. It might be a little geeky and possibly will creep out your roommates, family, and friends but it works. Sometimes what keeps you from writing is the actual typing, not the creative process.

Go to a forum in your niche and start answering some questions. Many times, writers block comes because you are trying too hard. This is especially true when you have a deadline bearing down on you. So instead of sitting there beating yourself up, redirect your brain power. Answering questions or discussing your topic will get your creative juices flowing and they will spill right into your blog post. Often times, I’ll have half my blog post done ANSWERING a question which I don’t ever even end up sending!

Listen to the people, not the person! I’ll be honest, it doesn’t matter what one or two of your visitors want from you. Reading advice on writers block, often times people will tell you to start talking to a friend or family member. This isn’t a BAD idea, but it’s not the most productive. I ask the entire internet what’s popular using tools like Google Insights and Yahoo Buzz. Both these tools give you tons of keywords that people are searching for right now. Find one that relates to your blog and run with it. If you are focusing on using keywords rather than creating content, it usually takes the creative block away.

Don’t write at all! So you have a case of huge writers block? Do your post without writing! Create a video, use those pictures you’ve been collecting, create a “best of your niche” type post, or put together a resources guide. Spend some extra time updating your social network profiles (or learning about social networking if you don’t do it already), work on your design, add new widgets for your WordPress Theme, do that link building you’ve been meaning to do, go comment on industry blogs. In other words, BE PRODUCTIVE! You’ll keep in your routine, continue growing your site, and likely will open up your creative process for later.

Rewrite a Story or List, putting your own spin on it! While we all want every post we right to be unique, creative, and original. It’s not going to happen. Some days, you just need to get something down. Go out and find a very popular story, top 10 list, feature, etc. from your niche and use that as the scaffolding. The best technique I’ve found is to find 2-3 posts/lists that are similar and read all three. Then just write my own using the ideas I read about, but NEVER, ever copy and paste. You’ll realize, when you’re done, that you have a much different story or list than they have.

Just start writing… With a pen and paper? And don’t forget, prewriting is allowed! I firmly believe that actually writing, drawling, doodling on a piece of notebook paper is often times the best solution to writers block and was the technique that got me through my college career. One of the hardest parts of blogging and one of its most charming characteristics is that it’s a very free-flowing medium. Most people sit down, write their posts, publish them and forget. You don’t have to go through the draft and rewrite phase that made you woozy in high school. But if you’re in a jam, there’s nothing wrong with creating a little outline or jotting down a little draft before creating your posts. The reason those techniques are used in school is because it teaches you to write when you’re not very good at it. In this case, it will often force you to focus on the parts that will make-up the whole.

Remember, your opinion is TOP NOTCH Content! One of the easiest and most effective ways to jump-start the creative process is to write your opinion about SOMETHING. Grab a couple pictures and write funny captions or make-up a story about what’s happening. Show a video and then give your opinion about what it was about. Review an article, website, newspaper, decision, video, etc. Give your visitors a look into your life, tell them what’s going on, and introduce them to the REAL you. People love opinions and they love knowing the person they are reading. Feel free to give them a nugget of what makes you tick and why you spend all the time you do giving them all this great info.

You don’t have to be a good writer to create awesome web content. Most of the time, good writers write way too much, leaving their audience lost in mounds of text. Internet users, as a rule, are quite fickle and inpatient. Unless you are a very engaging wordsmith with some very engaging topics, lots of text is going to turn off many visitors.

So here are my 8 Tips to Create Killer Content:

Amazing Pictures often tell stories much more powerfully than words. Exhibit A: New York Times Year in Pictures

Never underestimate the power of a single message. Too many webmasters bombard their visitors with a little bit of everything. If you can stay on target and create a nice, neat package that will really grab a certain visitor and keep them coming back, you’ll be much more successful in the long run.

Less really can be more. Don’t feel like you have to write the next great American Novel in every post or story. There’s nothing wrong with a quick, 200 word conversational style post. In fact, many of the top bloggers use this style very successfully and never have to spend more than a few minutes creating posts.

Don’t settle for the first thing you find! If you’re looking for images for your post, spend an extra 2 minutes and find an extra one so you have something to compare. If you’re looking for a video, watch 3-4 additional videos to ensure you find the most engaging. If you read a story or post you want to blog about, read another by that author and see if you’re getting as much as you can.

Use lists, tips, charts, graphs, and visual aids. People love seeing what you’re going to be telling them. If you have a top 10 list, they can get in and out quickly. If there are charts and graphs, they can see if the information is of interest of them before spending the time to read the accompanying story. Remember, their time is valuable. Give them aids to digest your information quickly and easily and they’ll keep coming back.

Learn from the dying newspapers! You’ve heard the saying, people read the Front Page (current events), back page (sports & entertainment) and the obituaries. That’s about it! Learn your lesson. Either give people current events that they can’t find elsewhere (including, a new and fresh spin on an old idea), something entertaining, funny, clever, or what they are passionate about (like the sports page), or content that they are morbidly fascinated with (like obituaries). No one cares about the same old, repackaged, boring stories in the middle of the paper, just as no one cares about boring, overdone website content.

It’s all about the CONTENT! If you have to worry about writing an engaging and amazing post to get people interested in what you’re telling them, you’re doing it all wrong! Engaging topics write themselves!

Do you research silly! Want to know what people like? Well, I already know! You know how? I go and find out! Use the tools around you to see what people in your field like. Go to similar sites and see which of their posts are most commented on. Go to social networking sites and see which stories are most popular. Listen to your own comments (and lack of comments) and give the people what they want.

And because 8 are never enough… Bookmark XPresence.com! You aren’t going to find this info just anywhere you know! Subscribe to our feed! Join our newsletter. Bookmark our site. Come back and visit us daily!

These “get rich quick, without working” schemes are just that… Schemes. They are designed to make whoever’s product you are buying money, not you! There’s one and only one way to consistently make money online… Create unique, killer content!

In the hour it takes to find RSS feeds to copy, create a new blog, setup a theme, and do some basic promotion of your new .info domain, you could have written 4-5 high quality posts that will not only get you content for the search engines, but actually be useful for your audience! A novel idea, I know!

What we often forget is that the reason ads work on the internet is because people are visiting your site and trusting your opinion. You might make a little money with CPM ads on a splog and might even trick a few visitors into clicking your Google AdSense ads. But neither method has the earning potential as creating a small, loyal group of readers who trust your opinion.

So here’s a little example. If you were looking to go to a movie on Friday night, would you ask one of your friends who you trust and know has many of the same interests as you or find some anonymous, random blog with misspelled and illegible writing to take your hot date? It’s a no brainer!

If you write daily and produce worthwhile, well researched content, you can do well online. Google LOVES fresh, unique content. 30 unique posts over 30 days is going to make you MUCH more money than 300 auto-generated posts in a single day.

Much like life, it’s not QUANTITY, but QUALITY! Just take a few minutes daily, create and maintain a voice, and create content for your audience! Take a day and create a weeks worth of “backup posts” to use whenever you don’t have time to write something new. Over time, your little hobby might just become a full time job!

Too many people don’t consider finding traffic in the most obvious of places.

While your competition is wasting time trying to beat Google’s Algorithms and move to the top of the search engines with a .info domain they just registered, I suggest most people start looking for traffic with a little more conservative and lasting approach.

The best place to start finding traffic is using social networking. There are hundreds of guides to social networking, so I’ll spare you the details, but know that they are still alive and very well. Don’t limit yourself to the major players. And never try to exploit or spam the networks and they will treat you very well. My best suggestion: Use social networks like they are meant to be used. Don’t always pimp your content and be open to meeting new friends.

Speaking of new friends, I have this theory… There is no such thing as competition on the internet. It’s not like in the brick and mortar world, where if a Meijer moves next to a Wal-Mart, one’s going to take a hit. The internet is much more of a community. Unless you are competing for AdSense placement, making friends of your fellow nichers is always more of a plus than a negative.

Never forget that you job as a webmaster owner is to give your visitors the very best content available. If you do that, you will be successful. If some of that content happens to be on another site, they will appreciate you find the best content for them and keep coming back. Some of the most popular sites in the world are social networking “link dumps”… This is no surprise. You have to realize that you can’t give everyone everything on your own.

My point? Make friends with those in your field or niche. Trade content links and plugs to give your visitors WHAT THEY WANT, not to increase SEO. You’ll find that if you worry much more about your visitors and less about the search engines, you’ll get better rankings, more repeat traffic, and make many more friends who can and will send traffic your way for free.

To get some of these friends to link to you, you’ll need what they call “Link Bate”. Basically, you need to give your visitors high quality content that they will share for you and content that other webmasters want to give their visitors. There are hundreds of link bating articles, but one of my favorites is The Ultimate Guide to Getting Lots of Link Love. Check it out, as it will give you tons more ideas to produce great content.

Do you have more great tools? Other posts and links that you rely on daily? Feel free to post them in the comments for us all to see!
