For businesses, establishing brand loyalty is usually one of the primary goals to ensure the business’ continued survival. Brand loyalty, as many businessmen and women recognise, is what separates the failures and the one shot wonders from the successes and the long time giants in business. But what is brand loyalty, really?
Brand loyalty is considered by marketing specialists as the commitment of a company’s customers to purchase products and/or services continuously from that business on the sole merit of its brand. Continuous and repeated buying from a company mainly because it carries the brand that customers are more acquainted to is a very powerful tool for a business. With such a tool, a business can not only grow, it can also expand its product line and even expand to other types of businesses on the merit of the its one brand that has a high brand loyalty rating.
Furthermore, brand loyalty also helps to advertise the company to other potential customers without the company lifting a hand. Consumers loyal to a certain brand are usually more than willing to encourage other people to support the brand that they are loyal too. What’s more, they are also highly likely to defend their preferred brand against its competitors. It is therefore no wonder that brand loyalty is something that every business strives for.
